STONE LIBRARY

A guide to the natural marbles and travertine used in PASO Living furniture.

At PASO Living, material comes first. Each piece begins with the stone — its tone, movement, weight and natural character.

Our collection brings together selected marble and travertine sourced internationally, chosen for their beauty, structural suitability and ability to form enduring sculptural furniture. From deep Verde Tinos and rich Rosso Levanto to soft Beige Travertine and expressive Arabescato, every stone brings its own atmosphere to a space.

No two slabs are ever identical. Variations in colour, veining, mineral markings and surface movement are part of the natural formation of stone — and part of what makes each PASO Living piece one of one.

Stone Finishes Explained

Our stone furniture is typically finished with a honed surface and protected with sealant for interior use. The finish affects how the stone looks and feels, while sealant helps reduce absorption and staining. Natural stone remains porous and should be cared for thoughtfully.

Select the finishes to find out more

Honed Finish

A honed finish has a smooth, soft matte surface. It gives marble and travertine an understated, tactile appearance and is ideal for sculptural furniture with a quiet, architectural presence.

Polished Finish

A polished finish has a glossier, more reflective surface that can enhance colour depth and veining. It offers a more luminous look, though reflective surfaces may show fingerprints, etching or fine marks more visibly.

Filled Travertine

Travertine naturally contains pores and small cavities. PASO Living uses filled travertine for a smoother, more practical furniture surface while preserving the stone’s organic texture and tonal character.

Custom Finishes

Custom matte or polished finishes may be available for selected pre-order or custom pieces, subject to stone type, product design and material suitability. Please visit our Customisation page for details.

Stone Library FAQ

What natural stones does PASO Living use?

PASO Living works with selected natural marble, travertine, quartzite and onyx. Our core collection includes Arabescato Marble, Calacatta Viola Marble, Verde Tinos Marble, Rosso Levanto Marble, Nero Marquina Marble and Beige Travertine, with other stone options available for selected custom projects.

Are PASO Living stone pieces sealed?

Yes. PASO Living marble and travertine pieces are protected with sealant for interior use. Sealant helps reduce absorption and staining, but natural stone is not stain-proof, acid-proof or maintenance-free.

Will my stone piece look exactly like the photo?

Our product photos are taken from actual PASO Living stock where available, so they are a close representation of the piece or material selection. However, no two natural stone pieces are identical. We carefully source and review stone for desirable veining, tone, balance and overall character.

Can I customise the stone, size or finish?

Yes. Selected pre-order and custom pieces may be available in different stone options, dimensions and finishes, subject to material suitability, structural suitability and design intent. Please visit our Customisation page for details.

How should stone furniture be moved and handled?

Stone furniture is durable for everyday interior use, but should be handled with care due to its natural weight and rigid structure. Always lift rather than drag, support the piece evenly from the base, and avoid impact to corners, edges, fluted or scalloped details.
